  • Looking for a great place to prefunc before BISHOP BRIGGS
with Matt Maeson at The Showbox this Saturday? Join us next door at the Blarney Stone for delicious Irish food and drinks! 🍻
🎀
Bishop's voice has grit and heft -- it is lived-in and unafraid -- putting her solidly in the lineage of female vocalists such as Janis Joplin, Florence Welch, Aretha Franklin, and Alabama Shakes' Brittany Howard. Like those who have left a mark before her, Bishop foregoes restraint and defies categorization, forging a path that is uniquely hers. Though she now sings her own songs in larger, crowded venues, Bishop still performs with the abandon and intimacy of someone addressing a handful of people in a small room. Deceptively composed, Bishop is often only a heartbeat away from howling with joy or being paralyzed by tears. The result is beyond inspiring, and promises to be as much of a transcendent experience for the audience as it is for Bishop.

  • review rating 4  This place is one of the only cool bars in downtown Seattle. There also just aren't that many bars downtown. This is one of my favorite dive bars. Staff is friendly and crowd is eclectic. Right next to Showbox at the market so a good place to grab a drink before hand. New menu has some good options on it as well.

  • review rating 4  Was there on St Patrick's Day, they had an Irish band and a lot of people. Beer was by the glass, no pitchers, but I wasn't particularly surprised by that since it was the holiday of drinking beer and they are a business. Overall I had fun while I was there, the bathrooms were down a long hallway and felt like you were going through a maze, but there was no line even though it was super busy in the bar.

  • review rating 4  A favorite stop of mine. The food menu is surprisingly varied and not really what you would normally consider bar food. bangers and mash, corned beef and cabbage, and home-made chips are some of my go-tos. The price for food and drink are really reasonable considering the neighborhood. Service can lag a little sometimes, but the staff is so nice that it's really hard to be bothered by it. Beer selection is relatively standard, but The Blarney Stone makes up for it with knowledgeable barkeeps and a really decent selection of liquor. The noise can be a bit much sometimes, especially on game days, but during quieter times, it's difficult to find a better bar in downtown.

  • review rating 4  I stopped in with some co-workers for a drink last week. My co workers had been before, but it was my first time. Its a good downtown location, but feels more like a small town bad than other places I've been in Seattle. The service was good, and they had a good selection of beer. Seems like it would be a good place for St. Patricks day
